Spam in leads funnel

I have seen an increase in spam in my leads funnel on my site. I am flagging them as spam because of the phone numbers. They are +8 or they have foreign text in the emails they leave. 

 

Is this just me or are others seeing this increase as well?

Hi @mastiff,

I checked with the team and they aren’t seeing an increase in spam in our member base.

I do have these 3 recommendations for you:

  1. Change the address field from a single-line text field to an address field with autocomplete.
  2. Make this address field required.
  3. Require either the phone number or the email so you can follow up with the lead.

Not making these changes makes it easier for spam bots to submit the form.

Thank you. I have made that update, so hopefully that will fix it. I have an additional question. Can you look at the attachment and help me understand what this is telling me?  I submitted a form and this is the notification that I get to my email. 

What I am curious about is why it would say that the lead source is facebook when it was not at all. I opened my site through a browser and submitted the form direct. 

What is the lead medium and the campaign telling me?

@beth  Yes I will forward to you. FYI...I am still getting the spam even after changing the form. They just put in “United States”
