Hi, I would love to learn more about your thoughts on Google Business profile, especially how to utilize for those that work out of our home…

Also, we’re focusing on the New Hampshire market. We don’t have a big city like Philadelphia or Fort Lauderdale to target our SEO around… How would you recommend we think about this? From what I can tell, most people in New Hampshire search for things on a state level as opposed to city specific… What would be your SEO approach to doing business in New Hampshire?

Hi @strattonenterprises, I’ll let Bryan expand more on the importance of a GB profile, but I wanted to give you some quick advice on what to set your primary target as--if you intend to generate the majority of your business all over the state of New Hampshire, that’s your primary market. I made a quick adjustment to your H1 on your homepage (see attached) because you still had a blank short code hanging out there :)

Next step would be to eliminate any [market_city] shortcodes on your homepage, otherwise it’s going to look a bit off (and Google likely doesn’t love unfilled shortcodes!). Make sure you replace those [market_city} shortcodes with NH/New Hampshire or in the content to ensure you have strong location indicators and density. And then, of course--personalize, optimize and localize!

@strattonenterprises One thing to note: Before you remove all of shortcodes for [market_city], be sure to duplicate your homepage so you can use the duplicated page to make your city location pages. Otherwise, you will need to add the [market_city] back in for those location pages.
